The cursor is 64×64, stored in local memory at CursorBase, aligned to 1024 bytes. Each scan line has two 64-bit planes, interleaved in memory. Bit 63 is the left-most pixel.
| Cursor line | Plane 0 offset | Plane 1 offset |
|---|---|---|
| Bottom | 0 | 8 |
| Next line upward | 16 | 24 |
| Top | 1008 | 1016 |
Command2 selects disabled, three-color, two-color highlight or two-color X Windows cursor mode. Cursor palette index/data registers supply colors.
CXLR/CXHR and CYLR/CYHR form twelve-bit X and Y positions. Write the low and high components, finishing with CYHR at I/O +0xBF to commit the group. Once a frame begins, it uses the cursor position from that frame's start.
Position (0,0) puts the cursor off-screen. Position (1,1) places the cursor's bottom-right pixel at the display's top-left pixel. Disable the hardware cursor when switching to VGA as specified in the context procedure.
